I have written a book about my own journey through life, from being 'Dave' and growing up in the 1970's through to 'becoming Lisa'.
My book is currently in the process of being 'proof read' in readiness for professional editing.
I am going to be donating any profits from the book to 3 local LGBT charities.
Now i need some help...
To publish, I need to raise about £1500 and i have a crowdfunding page to help me.
Please donate what you can, however little, and please share the page on your social media.
My hope is that my book can help other Transgender people through their own transition, and maybe also help to educate non lgbt people on the issues and obstacles we face in day to day life.
The next one will be held on Saturday 22nd April.
Venue is The Workshop, Marygate Lane, York (The Mesmac offices) 1pm to 4pm.
At this workshop you can learn basic make up skills, how to brush off negative comments and build your confidence, hear real life experiences that can help you on your own transition, learn more about the horrendous NHS waiting list and what you can do to speed things up once you get that first appointment and much much more.
Venue-wise it will be held in safe space and there will be tea/coffee and cake available, also on hand will be the York LGBT Forum's health and well being officer and i hope to someone on hand to help with FtM transitioning people too.
This will be the 4th workshop to date, and so far it has proven to be a HUGE success, if you would like more information, or would like help in setting up something similar in your area, don't hesitate to contact me. email@example.com
