HOMETOWN: York UK
I'll be the first to admit that i don't know that much when it comes to Non Binary.
A Non Binary person is someone who feels they are neither male nor female.
They will not wish to be addressed using gender specific words like 'he' or 'she'
Non-binary people may wish to transition so that their gender expression more closely reflects their internal identity. Many non-binary people wish to appear androgynous and adopt unisex names, gender-neutral titles such as Mx. and/or gender-neutral pronouns, but others prefer to express themselves in ways which are traditionally seen as masculine or feminine, or to mix aspects of the two.
Non binary is not a new concept or a passing fad, non binary people have been around for centuries, it's just that they have been under the radar and therefore largely gone un-noticed.
Non binary should not be confused with intersex either (intersex being the modern term for hermaphrodite) Intersex being a completely different concept.
Also of note, is that non binary people are not confused about their gender or lack of gender, just like bisexual people are not confused about their sexual orientation.
Non binary pronouns are nothing new either, people have used non binary terminology for centuries, for example "saw the doctor last week, they gave me some painkillers"
